Entrance procedures

To come inside a recreation centre you need to show proof of vaccination or a valid exemption, fill out a screening form and provide contact info.

1. Proof of vaccination or valid exemption

Starting September 22, you must show proof of vaccination or have a valid exemption to come inside.

2. Complete screening and provide contact info

Each person coming inside must complete a health screening form on the same day as your activity. This will include contact info for tracing purposes.

Activity participants

Activity participants must complete a PDF form.

We will help you complete screening at the door if you don't have a device or forgot to do it.

Spectators, parents/guardians and visiting teams

Spectators, parents/guardians, and members of visiting teams (including their parents/guardians and spectators) must complete a paper form for screening and contact tracing.

We will provide these at the door.

3. Wait outside entrance to be greeted

A staff member will greet you at the marked entrance to confirm proof vaccination/exemption and completion of screening.


Adult Recreation Centre (ARC)

The ARC is located at 185 King Street South. It's open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though hours maybe be extended based on programming.

In-person programs currently offered at the Adult Recreation Centre include:

  • Senior Day Program
  • Community Dining

Other drop in programs are still on hold. Planning is underway to resume in late Fall or early Winter.

Parking and transit

Parking is free for facility users.

The closest Grand River Transit bus stops are located 25 to 50m away at the corner of King and Allen Street. The Allen LRT station is also located close by. Check the GRT website for transit details.

Amenities

The ARC offers a billiards table and public access computers, available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. The patio and piano room are used for programming only.

Check our Active Waterloo website to register and pay for programs that take place at the Adult Recreation Centre, including fitness, dance and others.


Wing 404

Wing 404 is located at 510 Dutton Drive. It's open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though hours maybe be extended based on programming. It hosts drop-in and registered programs for adults and seniors.

In-person programs currently offered at the Wing 404 include

  • Registered Fitness Programs

Other drop in programs are on hold, and will return in early Winter.

Parking is free. The closest Grand River Transit bus stops (1155 and 1178) are located 400m away at the corner of Weber and Albert. Check the GRT website for transit times and fees.
