Starting August 4, 2020, lane swimmers and waterfit participants are welcome back to the Swimplex at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex. 
Lane swimming and waterfit are available in a limited capacity with reduced participants and a smaller number of classes and times. Participants will need to pre-register for both the lane swims and waterfit classes within 48 hours prior to the start of a program. The City of Waterloo is looking for feedback on our slow, reduced speed and closed streets. These areas were recently designated to offer safer spaces for walking, cycling and other modes of active transportation during the pandemic. Playgrounds in city parks will reopen for use on Friday. The reopening follows an announcement earlier this week from the province that communities in Waterloo Region were moving into Stage 3, as of Friday. 
In this phase, playground use is permitted. Anyone using playground equipment is still required to maintain physical distancing. They should wash their hands before and after using the equipment, and also consider wearing a mask as an additional precaution. Additional...
