Earth Day® is celebrated every Aprill 22 and is the largest, most celebrated environmental event in the world. More than six million Canadians join one billion people in over 170 countries by organizing events and projects that address local environmental issues. Here in Waterloo we celebrate Earth Day® with the following events and activities:

  • Waterloo Earth Day® (Saturday May 8, 2010 from 10:00am-2:00pm Laurel Creek Conservation Area)
    Waterloo Earth Day is a free fun-filled day of activities with an environmental theme. Dig in and help plant 1,000 trees and shrubs or enjoy some hands-on activities. Build a bird house with K-W Woodworking and Craft Centre, play a drum with Creation Africa, visit live birds with Mountsberg Wildlife Centre and more! School Challenge: Waterloo Region elementary schools who register the most participants will receive an environmental prize for their school.
